The Next Revolution (We're Doomed)

That's right. Doomed.

Why? Well let's look at some of the differences between two revolutions in western history. The American Revolution and the French Revolution. These have both had large impacts on history (the former moreso than the latter IMAO) The French Revolution was, well, bloody. Evil turned in upon itself at times. Both the elite and the clergy were distrusted by the masses and tortured, mutilated and killed by depraved men who saw the opportunity to act out.

In stark contrast stands the American Revolution. The revolutionaries concerned themselves (largely) with combatants or those giving direct aid to the enemy and in any case were no where near as cruel. (excepting perhaps the tar and feathering of tax men) The American revolution also lasted for over 100 years (till Lincoln) whereas the French could not have sustained theirs even without Napoleon coming along.

What was the difference? Leaders. The French were lead by some of the "great" thinkers of the Enlightenment Age like Rousseau. The Colonials were lead by men of integrity, men of education. Most often those men were their pastors or men of great faith. And that is where the problem for today comes in.

today's pastors are almost single minded in their support for the government. The old "No king but King Jesus" has been replaced by "King Bush." The willful blindness of our clergy will hand over the ideological backing of any revolution to the likes of the "freethinkers." The result? A French style revolt that would be bloody and lack the support necessary to sustain it.

And that, folks, is why we are doomed.

Unless things change that is. It isn't too late for the clergy to pick up the reins of society and lead us to freedom, either within the bounds of our current government or the next. The alternatives are horrifying.
