An Uproar

So the local hypocritical Christians are in an uproar again. This time against ME!

You see it all goes back several years ago when I found a loophole in the law. You see, the law allows me to something rather unique on my property. I am allowed to kill anyone for any reason or no reason, as long as they are on my property. Things were slow at first, but after a while people would start bringing other people to me so I could kill them too. You see, it doesn't matter if they come willingly or if they are forced onto my property, as long as they are on my property its all legal.

I started earning enough money from this little endeavor that even tho there are those who don't like it I have been able to purchase some rather considerable influence with the politicians and they in turn have ensured that this loophole is not closed. Its a pretty good deal. I get paid, and others get to be rid of someone who is bothering them. It's my right after all, and ain't no one gonna stop me.

But those darn Christians keep at it. Its gotten so bad that I have had to go to the courts to enact a "bubble zone" to keep these Christians away, and the local police force has to stand watch to ensure that my rights are not violated by those who wish to take away not just my rights, but yours as well!

They are a huge nuisance. They picket my house, shouting their inane slogans and showing pictures they have obtained of dismembered corpses (how else am I going to dispose of them?) My neighbors have complained, but there is nothing I can do about it. There is just no reasoning with these backwards people. They are all fascists who listen to their imaginary friend and are always looking for ways to control my life and those who come to me. So far the courts have upheld our freedoms, but we must remain vigilant to see that those control freaks don't take them all away.

Ethanol Causing Price Hikes For Beer Drinkers

The Gazette has an article today stating that there is a price-hike going on amongst the beer brewers, particularly the smaller specialty brewers (meaning everything not Coors, Bud or Miller.) This increase is due to farmers growing corn in response to the artificially inflated demand for ethanol (created by government mandate for ethanol fuel) which has predictably caused a shortage of other crops, barley and hops in this article.

It seems that I have read about this previously... Oh yeah, on my own blog. Seems I wrote about this" over a year ago.

Way to go FedGov! Just keep ignoring economics, its worked so well for us so far.

Lil' Bear Is Growin' Up!

Boy do they grow up fast! My boy just used his super deluxe music-playing potty-sensing big boy potty for the first time today. Not once, but twice. Now the question is, which is worse, changing diapers, or hearing DAAAAD WIPE MY BUTT! There is no dignity in either one but one I am used to and the other is new.

Also, I read that you can get a good estimate of a child's adult height by measuring them at age 2. A boy will be 49.5% of his full height and a girl 52.5%. Having measured my boy he should reach about 5'10 or 5'11.

More Government Spying

The Federal Government is set to give immunity to telecom companies that broke the law by handing over information to the federal government.
The Senate on Tuesday approved new rules for government eavesdropping on phone calls and e-mails, giving the White House much of the latitude it wanted and granting legal immunity to telecommunications companies that helped in the snooping after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
The House version did not include this immunity but from what the article states they are now wanting to adopt this provision.

Worse, Bush states that the Senate bill provides "fair and just liability protection to those private companies who have been sued for billions of dollars only because they are believed to have done the right thing and assisted the nation after the September 11th terrorist attacks." This "right thing" of course was flagrantly breaking the law for a white House that believes the Constitution is nothing more than a "god-damned piece of paper" and has no respect for the Rights of the Citizenry. The current administration has been hell-bent on reducing the freedoms that Americans have, apparently pursuing a goal of reducing our freedom so that those who "hate us for our freedom" will hate us less.

There is a possibility that the House will fight this provision. House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers said Tuesday he still opposes retroactive immunity, also writing "There is no basis for the broad telecommunications company amnesty provisions advocated by the administration." But I think that longtime observers of our Government know full well that they will give in.

Hungry anyone?

I was getting ready for work on Monday and my Lil Bear was sitting on the floor playing and said something to me. I didn't understand and he repeated it a couple of times and he was extending his closed hand towards me. I leaned in closer to try to understand him...

"Wanna knuckle sammich?"

I about died of laughter! He just keeps getting cuter and more precious.

FEMA and Katrina

Guess what? I just found out that FEMA is STILL paying rent for victims of Katrina. Just so you don't have to look anything up, Katrina hit New Orleans on August 23rd, 2005. So FEMA has been paying rent for who knows how many people for... 29 months.

Government Intelligence

The largest vehicle in the world is the one that moves the space shuttle. This thing is a massive 3,300 tons and has a maximum speed of 2 MPH. In the interests of safety the driver is required to wear a seat belt.

In Colorado Springs the police had a three hour standoff with a sleeping man after hearing an "unloaded gun being fired"
Officers went to the Summer Grove Apartments, about 4 a.m., on a report of gunfire. During a search in the building, an officer heard what sounded like an unloaded pistol being fired in apartment No. X.
So jut what does an "unloaded pistol" sound like when it is being fired? Mine sounds like "click click" In fact, every gun I have ever owned sounded an awful lot like "click click" when being fired when unloaded. I for one am grateful that CSPD has taken extra steps to protect us from dry firing by hiring officers with them big everlasting ears.

Amazing F-15

I always loved the now-grounded F-15. It is an incredible jet with some impressive capabilities, but flying on one wing is not something I was aware of.

For those of you on dialup, this F-15 was in a mid-air crash and actually lost a wing but they were able to fly ten miles and land it. Cool stuff!
